Itinerary Descriptions:

Day 01: Arrival in Srinagar – Transfer to Sonmarg

Distance: 80 KM | Time: 2.5 – 3 Hours

Upon arrival in Srinagar, begin your scenic drive towards Sonamarg, famously known as the “Meadow of Gold.” The journey offers breathtaking views of lush valleys, flowing rivers, and snow-capped Himalayan peaks.

On arrival, check into your hotel and relax amidst the pristine natural surroundings. In the evening, enjoy a peaceful walk along the Sindh River or simply unwind and acclimatize to the refreshing mountain air.

Overnight Stay: Sonmarg

Day 02: Sonmarg – Kargil via Zoji La & Drass

Distance: 125 KM | Time: 4 – 5 Hours

After breakfast, proceed towards Kargil crossing the thrilling Zoji La Pass, the gateway to Ladakh. Witness a dramatic transition in landscapes from lush greenery to rugged barren mountains.

En route, pass through Drass, the second coldest inhabited place in the world, and visit the Kargil War Memorial (subject to time). Continue along the Suru River valley to reach Kargil.

Day 03: Kargil – Leh (Monasteries & Sangam)

Distance: 215 KM | Time: 6 – 7 Hours

Today’s drive is one of the most scenic routes in Ladakh. Visit the ancient Mulbekh Monastery with its Maitreya Buddha statue and the spectacular Lamayuru Monastery set amidst moon-like landscapes.

En route, experience the fascinating Magnetic Hill and witness the stunning confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers. Arrive in Leh by evening and rest for acclimatization.

Day 04: Leh – Monastery & Cultural Exploration

After breakfast, explore the spiritual essence of Ladakh by visiting:

• Hemis Monastery – the largest monastery in Ladakh
• Thiksey Monastery – resembling Potala Palace
• Shey Palace – former royal residence
• Shanti Stupa – offering panoramic sunset views 

Later, explore Leh Market for shopping and café experiences.

Day 05: Leh – Nubra Valley via Khardung La

Distance: 160 KM | Time: 5 – 6 Hours

Drive through the iconic Khardung La Pass, one of the world’s highest motorable roads. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views before descending into the picturesque Nubra Valley.

Visit Diskit Monastery and experience the unique sand dunes of Hunder, where you can opt for a Bactrian camel ride.

Day 06: Nubra – Excursion to Turtuk Village

Distance: 170 KM (Round Trip)

After breakfast, proceed to Turtuk, one of the northernmost villages of India near the Indo-Pak border. This hidden gem offers a unique glimpse into Balti culture with its stone houses, apricot orchards, and warm hospitality.

Return to Nubra Valley by evening.

Day 07: Nubra – Pangong Lake via Shyok Route

Distance: 275 KM | Time: 7 – 8 Hours

Drive along the scenic Shyok River towards the breathtaking Pangong Lake. The journey offers some of the most dramatic landscapes of Ladakh.

Upon arrival, witness the magical blue waters of the lake changing shades with sunlight. Enjoy the serene atmosphere and stunning views.

Day 08: Pangong – Leh via Chang La Pass

Distance: 225 KM | Time: 6 – 7 Hours
